You’ve seen the option to use a push button to start your vehicle, but what if you could take this to the next level and start your car from inside your house? With Control4, we can integrate your smart car into your system so all you have to do is touch a button on your mobile device and start the car early before you step foot out the door. This is especially helpful on those extra cold days when you want to warm up the car before you venture outside. It may not get below zero in Charlotte, but there are those times when you tend to run to your car to avoid the chills.

At the most recent CES conference, Control4 announced that certain cars can now connect to a Control4 smart home. Add the smart home app to your iPhone or Android and it will connect to your car. On a Toyota vehicle display unit, for example, you will see the ability to turn your home’s lights on, lock doors and garages, and change the thermostat. The new app software can also initiate automation scenes in the home right from the dashboard. Press “away” and the garage door will close, the lights will turn off, and the security system will arm. Then touch “arrive” on your dash a few minutes before you come home, and your house will come back alive to welcome you inside.
